| One thing I found via old Census records was that Beauregard was not originally named Beauregard. On the 1868 Census his father, Samuel, listed a son name Thomas S., aged 1/12 year old. In the 1880 census, Samuel listed no children living with him. His oldest son, William C. Reid, listed his brother, Thomas Beauregard, as 20 years old. and occupation as blacksmith. I told my first cousin, Dr. Tom Reid that and he said he had always heard that Beauregard was not his given name, Also, it was obvious that Beauregard was born in 1860 and not 1861. John Reid |
