There is a marker on Christian Mauney’s property, erected on September 20, 1919 by the Mauney Memorial Foundation and funded by relatives, with the following statements: 1. The home of Christian Mauney. 2. The site of Tryon County Courts, 1774-1779, and then of Lincoln Courts until January 1783. 3. The encampment of Lord Cornwallis’ Army enroute to Virginia 1780-1781. 4. The place of the signing of the Tryon Association, August 14, 1775, with names of the signers. A second marker, commemorating the Tryon Association was given by the Col. Frederick Hambright Chapter, D.A.R. Kings Mountain, NC.
